It has been a fun and active couple of weeks with the campaign. I successfully turned in all of my paperwork and signatures to get on the ballot on June 17th!

I got my start on the internet by being a blogger, and I am back to doing that a little bit with this campaign. On my Housing page, there are a few posts about various reasons I’m so passionate about increasing housing. One main reason is that housing is friendly! Housing says yes to people, and allows the people who work here, to live here. I am fundamentally opposed to the idea that we need to build a wall around the county and keep people out. We need houses, not walls.

#HandsOff
|
On Saturday I attended the Hands Off protest and it was so energizing and so great to see so many various community members out there, and people of all ages.

IMPACT
This week there is a great community event happening with the organization IMPACT. Their Nehemiah Action night is Tuesday April 8th 6:30-8:00 at CHS, and this is where local officials and local candidates get the chance to say publicly if they support certain initiatives. This year, for county candidates, they are asking if we support a $10 million Housing Trust Fund, and I am excited to read my statement in support of it. They expect over 1,000 community members to be in attendance, and I would love to see you there!

Later this week I'll be posting my statement on all my social media channels if you can't make it.

Park Event!
|
Next Sunday, April 13th I am hosting a Moms Supporting Moms event at Pen Park. I'm really interested in hearing from moms what concerns they have about the issues facing their families. So bring your kids and come hang out for a bit and talk about what matters to you!

Ways You Can Help
You can forward this email on to anyone you think might be interested in learning more about the campaign. I would also love it if you could follow me on my social media accounts. As a first-time candidate, name recognition is something I need to build, and the way the algorithms work, any sort of interaction helps!
|
I will be getting yard signs soon, so if you are interested in getting one, let me know. If you are willing to host a Meet & Greet with your friends or neighbors, I would love to come and talk about ways we can keep making Albemarle a place where everyone can thrive!

|
And as always, donations are always welcome. I really appreciate the support I've gotten so far, and it's allowed me to do everything I've needed to do, but as we get closer to election day, every dollar helps!
